SHIELD WALLET — INSTALL AND UPDATE

This download is an unpacked desktop Chromium extension. It is not a Chrome Web
Store listing, a signed installer, or a one-click install. Desktop Chrome, Edge
and Brave with Chromium 120 or newer are supported. Firefox, Safari and mobile
browsers are not supported by this package.

INSTALL
1. Download the ZIP and checksum file from Shield's download page.
2. Optionally compare the ZIP's SHA-256 with the download page/checksum:
   macOS: shasum -a 256 shield-wallet-0.1.1.zip
   Windows PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\shield-wallet-0.1.1.zip -Algorithm SHA256
   Linux: sha256sum shield-wallet-0.1.1.zip
3. Extract the ZIP into a permanent folder, such as Documents/Shield Wallet.
4. Enter chrome://extensions in Chrome, edge://extensions in Edge, or
brave://extensions in Brave. Enable Developer mode.
5. Choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json.
6. Pin Shield Wallet from the browser's Extensions menu and click its shield icon.
7. Create a wallet and record its recovery phrase privately, or import an existing
Shield recovery phrase/encrypted backup. Never share the phrase or password.

The public 0x address receives BNB for network fees and BEP-20 deposits. The shd1
address receives private Shield transfers. A public address cannot receive a
private Shield send. This wallet signs locally; self-paying BNB fees is public.

UPDATING VERSION 0.1.1 AND LATER
Export an encrypted backup before every update and retain the recovery phrase.
Close the wallet window. Replace the files in the existing extracted folder with
the new release, then press Reload on its Extensions card. Do not remove the
extension: browser removal can delete its local vault. There are no automatic
updates for an unpacked distribution. Keep Developer mode enabled and keep the
extension's folder in place. A managed browser may prohibit unpacked extensions.

MIGRATING A 0.1.0 DEVELOPER PREVIEW
Older previews did not have a pinned extension ID. Before deleting, replacing or
removing that old preview, open it and export its encrypted backup. Install this
release and import that backup with its original password. Confirm both the
public BSC address and private Shield address match. Keep the original preview
until recovery is verified. Do not assume its local account automatically moves.

VERIFYING THE PACKAGE
INTEGRITY.json lists the SHA-256 and size of every included file except itself.
The companion source ZIP contains source, build instructions, lockfiles, exact
dependency license notices and source integrity hashes. A matching checksum
detects changed bytes; it is not a signature or malware-safety guarantee.

This release has internal tests/review, not a third-party security audit or store
review. Do not interpret a download, checksum or passing test as a guarantee
against bugs, malware on your computer, loss of funds or malicious tokens.
